Fear Free Approach

Our Fear Free approach to your pets

“Taking the pet out of petrified”

We strongly believe that your pets should be handled with the care and respect they deserve. For some coming to the vets can be frightening and we have taken steps to reduce fear, stress and anxiety in our practice.

Our vets and nurses are Fear Free certified which means we adopt the correct techniques to make their experience with us as positive as possible.

We have separate dog and cat waiting areas. The cat waiting area is quieter and full of relaxing pheromones. We have cat lockers and feliway infused blankets so your cats can wait in a safe and sheltered area.

Our dog waiting room has weighing scales sunken into the floor, has dog pheromone diffusers and a large pot of the tastiest treats. We also have a separate quiet area where dogs can sit away from other dogs and a separate entrance/ exit that can be used for our less sociable visitors.

Our cat ward is positioned upstairs in our building where it is nice and quiet, far away from the dogs.

Our kennels are well insulated and have quiet opening and closing doors. We have pull down screens and hide away cubby holes to give our feline patients the privacy they need.

We use lots of positive reinforcement and distraction techniques. We have licky matts, snuffles matts and lots of tasty treats to occupy our canine visitors.
