Melksham: Another home for Chalkland Vets 

Exciting news from the Chalkland Vets Chippenham family! We are delighted to announce that from the 30th of January we’re bringing our very same caring and conscientious brand of veterinary care to the pets and pet owners of Melksham. Historically a thriving and well used retail unit back in the day of horse-drawn goods, we have breathed life once again into a building which had fallen into disrepair. The result is a shiny new, perfect for purpose veterinary practice ready to deliver the relaxed, tailored and personalised veterinary service that only a family run, independent business can. Taking your pet to the vets should be easy and convenient, so we’re pleased to offer on-site car parking as well as reimbursement of parking charges should you need to use the large car park opposite.   

For anyone who already makes the journey to our main surgery in Chippenham, you will be welcomed with open arms at Melksham by Lead Veterinary Nurse Debbie, and Head Receptionist Samantha. Courtney and Maria are two of the vets who will deliver our top-class veterinary provision, alongside our much-loved and dedicated practice owners Philly and Selina, who will divide their time between the Chippenham and Melksham surgeries. For pet owners who have not yet had the Chalkland Vets experience, why not come and join the family? Vet Maria is experienced in all aspects of veterinary science with a particular interest in veterinary medicine. Inside of work she’s currently working towards a post graduate certificate in medicine; outside of work she’s run-ragged by her two ragdoll cats and her sassy chihuahua. Courtney loves all aspects of being a veterinary surgeon, and not least providing mental wellbeing to our patients in the form of patient cuddles. Maria and Courtney, together with Philly and Selina will bring a full veterinary service to the pets of Melksham and surrounding areas to include preventative healthcare such as vaccinations, medical treatments, and both routine and other surgical procedures. 

Debbie and Samantha are a brilliant team, having already cemented a solid working relationship with one another previously. They work excellently in conjunction to provide a smooth, professional, yet friendly service, underpinned by a great deal of knowledge obtained through many years of experience within their respective roles. Debbie employs a ‘fear-free’ approach to veterinary nursing, taking the time, and some extra special measures to make pets feel comfortable in their time of need. She’s both a ‘cat person’ and a ‘dog person’ spending much of her free time cuddling up with her four dogs and her ragdoll cat. Samantha relishes the opportunity that her job provides her to build strong relationships with clients and their pets. Her open, friendly and familiar approach puts owners and pets at ease whenever they visit. She treats all of our furry clients just as she would treat her own beloved Labrador, Bud. 

We are incredibly excited about our new venture in Melksham and would love local pet owners to come and share in the adventure with us. Clients can be registered at both surgeries and our universal computer system will ensure an easy and joined up service for anyone wishing to flit between the two.
